Rest

The other night, I was before the Father and asked for His help. I knew I was too involved in my flesh because I saw my issues. I could see where money was lacking, bill collectors calling, children needing what I could not provide. My issues were too big, too vivid and I cried to the Lord deliver me from these issues. As I prayed I cried knowing He is the only one that can help me endure this race.

I got a phone call of a miracle. I was most thankful. Later on that day I could see the Father's favor, seeing more from my spiritual eyes. I saw Him doing far more than I could imagine. To see the unimaginable requires much faith and praise.

I noticed that my faith was in increments and the Father was providing in increments. He wants to see if I can manage the increments of what He gives. He wants to know if I can be thankful for the little. God wants to know if I can praise Him when I don’t know. He wants to know if I will go when He says go. In the midst of all this, I can only rely on Him. For this is a work He created and ordained.

Lately, I have had to remind myself that I have gone through a flood; I have gone through the fight, been broken, put in pits, and even secluded with lightning flashing all around. I can say I have been delivered through the pits, fights, floods, because my Father loves me. The Lord will never put more on me than I can bear.

As I remind myself I recite “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord you God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:1b-3a).

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9-10)

Sometimes we get caught up in the natural and loose sight of the spiritual. In the spiritual realm we can see victory. In the flesh we can not only see pain but dwell in the midst of the pain and time retrains. It is with my spiritual eyes I can see what the Lord is pulling me through.

What type of rest are you seeking ? Rest from the Father? Are you caught up with how much rest you are not getting? Or are you seeking His rest for endurance for the race?

I encourage you to know your circumstances are reminders of how involved you are with your flesh. If you can only feel pain when a miracle occurred, ask God for His peace. If you are only seeing what you lack, call upon the Father to give you wisdom to see your victory. Request to the Father that your imagination is open to His will. It is vital to believe in the success of the mission for victory. Pray to the Father for ongoing Faith and not faith of increments. Seek the Lord, and he will answer, and deliver you from all your fears (Psalm 34:4). For the Lords “presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14).

Creation

February is a month in which many across the world recognize African Americans for multiple reasons of accomplishments. Some children are starting their day in schools with a brief mentioning of a highlight of an African Americans’ invention or achievement.

In thinking of this month and how many speak of the achievements of many my mind travels to Garrett Morgan. He was an inventor and businessman from Cleveland who is best known for inventing a device called the Morgan safety hood and smoke protector in 1914.

One of his most popular inventions children are told about is the stop light. Morgan created the stop light which directs people when traveling. His invention was created for people all over the world. His invention gives drivers a sense of when to move forward and stay put.

Everyone has some type of invention within. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them“(Ephesians 2:11).

I imagine before Morgan created the improvement to the stop light he had a purpose in mind. Prior to the traffic signal being placed on the street I believe Morgan desired to help people understand when it was safe for them to go. Perhaps as he was driving he thought, this invention will decrease the number of car accidents.

God has given each of us a purpose in life for good works. He desires for us to all have eternal life and knows the temptations of this world. Because this world is corrupted He has given us good works inside of us to help us get to heaven. Are you embracing your work from the Lord? Have you found the invention in you?

Your purpose is not just for you but for the many. Maybe your purpose is to encourage through your testimony. Possibly your purpose is to join people as they eat your blessed and highly flavored food. Perhaps your purpose is to remind people of the Father through your words, your art, your song, your grace, your smile or your acts of kindness. We all have a creation inside of us.

Don’t let your days pass by as if you have no purpose. Seek the Father for guidance. Pray to God to open your ears to hear Him. Ask the Father to help you imagine your creation. You were created in the image of God, (Genesis 1:27) being a creation of the Creator gives you divine power to create as He.

In The Midst of Haters

I have been preparing for our upcoming conference and it has been a challenge. A few days ago a person told me I needed to "wait a year before I had the conference because ‘no one knows me’”. I politely told them thank you for your insight.

I moved away from them quickly and as the day went on their words, start forming negativity within. I start questioning if I should change the date. I start thinking maybe it can’t be next month because it’s too soon. I was frustrated and said, “Well I should cancel the event.”

I spoke with my husband and he encouraged me to seek God.

That next morning, I rose early to have a meeting with the Father. I cried thanking Him for victory. I asked for forgiveness for putting limitations on God and I felt lead to move forward. Once I got up a bursting feeling of energy came over me.

I could see couples joining renewing their vows. I saw couples being healed from jealousy, broken of pride, encouraged to love and grow spiritually with each other. I saw women with formal gowns on, as if they were going to the prom with their date. Men were pulling chairs out, as if they were trying to impress their loved one, to win them over.

For a moment my understanding was clouded, it became darkened, “being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart” (Ephesians 4:18). But God is a God of His word.

When God tells you to do something you have to be careful who you share it with. Jesus spoke on the Mount warning the people to "Never give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs. Otherwise, they will trample them with their feet and then turn around and attack you." (Matthew 7:6)

I knew in my heart I had to move on, the conference is to build and help the growth of the institute of marriage.

God was speaking to my heart “Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. For He brings down those who dwell on high,” (Isaiah 26:2-5).

Today the economy is messed up. But the Lord is saying trust in me forever. As I considered the economy, I could see Joseph when the Lord placed him in position to help during a famine. If Joseph did not do as the Lord directed him, how many people would not have had food? Would he have been there for his family when they needed food? Would he have reunited with his father and brothers?

As I kept thinking it became clear to me “if I don’t continue with this conference people won’t be at God’s appointed time, people wont’ see that even through the hardships God is saying “Come with me on the honey moon and I will pay the fare.”

The Lord wants you and me to understand the power of His word. The psalmist wrote “Your word is a lamp to my feet, And a light to my path” (Psalm 105). The word helps guide you through the bumpy areas. When darkness is all around the word gives you a clear path so you can maneuver through.

What is your image of what God is telling you? Can you see yourself doing what He is asking of you? Do you desire Him in the night? Are you listening to the haters?

Consider praising the Lord, as He fights the battle. Separate your self from the haters and allow the Lord to sanctify you with the truth (John 17:17). Shout to the heavens above “by my spirit within me “I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness” (Isaiah 26:9). Pray to God to release you from putting restraints on Him, as you pursue relying on Him.

Divine Order

Last night, I went to sleep early because I wanted to complete several task in the morning. As the midnight hour came my children awoke one, by one hour by hour.

The time was approaching for me to wake and my baby was a bit agitated. I decided to hold him so he would fall back to sleep. As I held him I recognized how exhausted I was yet I had appointed myself to rise early to tend to certain task so I prayed to the Father to give me strength to endure through my weariness.

I got up praying for strength and as my foot touched the floor I was in good health and spirit. I lost an hour when my baby woke up but I told myself “I have divine power for all I need, I have victory.”

While it was still quiet in the house I knelt before the Lord and just thanked Him. Interestingly, though my night was of less rest I was at peace.

I had 25 minutes before my children would awake and I read a scripture I was meditating on and began to prepare breakfast. Then the children went off for school and I began to write. As I wrote I thought “Six days you shall labor and do all your work” (Exodus 20:9).

Initially, when reading this verse it appears as if it is directing us to basically work hard for six days. However, it is in fact telling us to serve for six days and do all the natural skill God has imparted upon you for six days. To labor is to serve. You might be appointed to serve at a local church or volunteering at a youth center. Perhaps you are to serve by assisting or supporting your spouse as they are serving. Or maybe you are simply to serve your children. Yet you have six days to complete you task of serving.

First, God has instructed you to serve for six days. Secondly, the Father has directed you to do all work. The work He is implying is not busy work. This scripture is referring to God’s creative work. There is something that He created you to do; something that you do as a unique being that He ordained for you to do. He is saying do it for six days.

God directs not only what you are to do but He tells you how often. When I went to sleep I had intentions on only the creative work He wanted me to do but God is orderly. I have to serve before I get to the creative part. Even when I was seeking to do the second part first He kept pushing in my face do what “He said to do first, and then I can get to the second task.”

Many times parents are stressing to their children “Do what I say first.” But how often is the parent doing what God says to do first? It is easy to get caught up in doing the creative work first because at times it’s the fun part. Yet people often want to skip out on the serving, the labor because it is not so fun.

What are you resting to do? Are you preparing for serving first? Consider doing things in an orderly fashion. Pray to God to bring to your attention how He would have you serve. Call upon the Father to forgive you for trying to do what you desired to do first. Ask God to direct you to serve and do all the creative work He ordained you to do for six days. Commit your self to do the will of the Lord in His order. “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

Saving Faith

Recently, I had to go into Atlanta to pick up some material. I printed out the instructions to go to an unfamiliar location I had never gone. I was going to this unfamiliar location; therefore, it was important for me to leave early.

As I approached the location, I saw a cloud of dust from construction ahead and a panic came over me. I was considering, I might miss the store because of the loud construction. Pressure began to build as on coming traffic was coming from behind. I decided to pull over and call for specific directions.

A gentleman answered the phone and guided me directly to the location which was around the corner beyond the construction site.

After I got what I needed from the location, I noticed the map did say the road curved and I laughed. I followed the directions up until the pressure of the traffic and the distraction of the construction site. I did not loose site of where I was going until I panicked and stopped looking at the directions. However, when I did loose sight I was able to pick up a phone and call for some personal guidance and was guided directly to the store.

Jesus said, "Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you"(John 15:14). What instructions has the Lord given you? Do you know how to call on your friend when you get lost? If you get distracted by loud banging noises, people with negativity, do you seek the Father or look to others? What keeps you connected to your friendship with Christ is your obedience? Your obedience expresses your friendship of faith. Your faith saves you in the midst of it all.

My intentions where to follow directions but I was distracted by the pressure of being in an unfamiliar location with cars approaching the rear of my car and the loud banging construction site. I felt lost and out of touch with my directions and made a call to get back on track.

Being lost can be overwhelming. Before getting lost you have the directions but distractions can cause you to get off course delaying your arrival time of your specific destination.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16: 31). I believed when I called the store I would get personal directions how to get to my destination in the midst of all the distractions. We have to have the same approach when seeking the Father. Believe He will help you through with His spiritual guidance. Believe He has it all worked out before you even make the call. Believe in the success of the mission through Christ Jesus.

What happens when you get lost? Do you know when to pull over to get personal help? Do you know who to turn to for directions? Or are you stuck on the mistakes you made and give up?

Following directions are not always going to be easy but they can be accomplished with guidance. Allow yourself to pull through by making a call for personal guidance from Christ. Pray to God to give you control over panicking in the midst of construction. Ask God to take your sense of doubt away and replace it with the sense of faith. Call upon the Lord to release you from the fear of being lost, so you can call Him today. Ask the Father to ignite you to follow through His instructions. "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James 2:26).

Delayed

Life has been depressing for many. People are loosing jobs, loosing homes; marriages are dying because of conditions. A man lost his job and because he was so distraught he killed his family and himself.

A lady shared with me that she had a story she wanted to be published but because she didn’t have illustrations she couldn’t go any further.

A gentleman revealed to me a project he wanted to work on but doesn’t seem to have the time to even get started. Both of these people have a dilemma which is killing them each second of the day; murder is occurring and they have yet to recognize they are slowly dying.

All three of theses people only see what they don’t have which causes them to be disobedient. The first man mentioned became disarranged and because of his mistakes He chose to dish out the consequences swiftly. The other people have delayed disobedience. Delayed disobedience is a silent killer.

You can observe delayed disobedience in the story of Adam and Eve. Adam was appointed head over the garden. He was told to name all the animals, and given dominion over the earth. Then God gave him a woman, and Adam named her Eve. God had a leadership meeting with Adam and told Adam “but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die'"” (Genesis 3:3).

Adam got the directions yet failed to have a meeting with his helpmate. He ignored communicating all the details to Eve. Some how he forgot what God said about being disobedient and then he did not want to take full responsibility for the results of not communicating(Genesis 3:12).

God plainly tells Adam if you disobey me you will die. God gave all the previously mentioned people some directions.

The first person was so troubled by his disobedience that he killed his family and self based on his mistakes. The remaining people are slowly allowing death to consume them based on procrastinating.

Has God given you instructions and all you can see is what you don’t have? What are you placing your faith in, what you see or believe? Our faith activates the Lord. Our obedience gives us favor allowing what He said to flourish.

Choose today to follow God and not what your circumstance say. Consider having swift obedience instead of delayed disobedience. Recognize that you can’t change what you didn’t do yesterday but you can change today by moving forward. Pray to God to give you strength to press on. Ask the Lord to forgive you for not moving when He said to go. Call upon the Father to trust in you as you execute the tasks He asks of you. Give your word to God to be faithful and diligent in following His instructions.

Two For The Price of One

Yesterday, I woke up with a headache and a list of ongoing tasks. I new I wasn't going to get the devotional out in the morning, but I told God I will get it out. As the day was going by I was doing things pertaining to the conference. It was funny all of the sudden I felt weighed down.

I thought “God you couldn't be telling me to not do this conference and this song came on "Jesus is Love." I cried because that is one of the songs that will be sung at the conference. I then knew to move forward with the conference.

It is not easy working for God but the challenge is always worth it. Later that evening, I took my daughter to dance class. As we traveled back home I heard a pastor on the radio say, "You have to believe God for what you are asking for." That moment I knew God was reminding me to believe. It is our faith which activates the Lord and our obedience that gives us favor from the Father.

My obedience out weighs more than just me, it affects all those God brings in my path. When I arrived home I could have said, “I am not writing a devotional, no one is going to look at it anyway.” However, if I would have done such thing I would have allowed my condition to renege my word. I would have gone back on my faithfulness to the Lord based on having a long day. I would have broken my promise to the Father based on wanting to just be free of tasks. I would have had a day of not being faithful of my word to the Father.

Obedience brings happiness and disobedience brings unhappiness. God said, "The things I command you, observe to do"(Deuteronomy 12: 32). "If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land"(Isaiah 1: 19).

It is our obedience which appeals to the Father. I can take being submissive to my spouse because I am getting two for the price of one. I gain favor insight of the Lord as well as my husband. Being an obedient daughter is easy when considering “I am getting two for the price of one.”

The greatest example of obedience is Christ. “Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him” (Hebrews 5: 8, 9).

Maybe you wrestle with being obedient. Perhaps you lack following the instructions given to you. Yet do you crave to become closer to the Father. Are you willing to know Him? Jesus said, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent" (John 17:3). Can you say today, “I know God”?

Saying I know Him is saying “I am diligent to keep His commandments.” Saying I know Him is confessing your faults and striving to not repeat them. You know the Lord by keeping His commandments (1 John 2:3). You know you will have eternal life by the Father cleansing you, as you ask for forgiveness.

Who are you striving to please? How obedient are you? Are you full of happiness because the Lord has given you favor upon your acts of obedience? Or do you slumber and live in misery based on your stubbornness?

Consider revising your choices today. Plea to the Father to forgive you for your selfish acts. Praise the Lord in advance for deliverance from disobedience. Pray to God that you have a heart of willingness to be faithful in doing His will. I pray that God prospers you in your obedience to His will. For I know the Lord is saying today "If you love me, keep my commandments", (John 14: 15).

Better Than Sacrifice

We have a GPS which directs us how to get to destinations. Recently, my husband and I were traveling and we decided to take another route different from what the GPS was directing us to do. The further we got away from the guided instructions the more it continued to re-route us back to the path of the freeway. We would pass a street and it would tell us to turn around yet we kept going straight the way we knew was a short cut. The machine would speak from time to time and say “re-calculating” yet each time it would re-calculate it would send us back in the direction which we came.

Eventually, we got back on course with its directions but it never stopped re-calculating and directing us. God does something similar. He tells us to do something and we might start off doing what He directs but some how we find a short cut and get off course. Each time we go the opposite way of God he then re-calculates our position and redirects us so we can get back in gear with His plan.

Following directions is merely obeying. According to Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, the definition of obey is as follows: 1. To give ear to; to execute the commands of; to yield submission to; to comply with the orders of; 2. To submit to the authority of; to be ruled by; 3. To yield to the impulse, power, or operation of; as, a ship obeys her helm.

The word obey is typically thought of as a slavery term. Many confuse obeying as a form of power. We don’t want to do what we are asked to do by God because we feel a sense of helplessness. Some people are so offended by the word that they take it out of the marriage ceremony. The Bible does say submit and obey, doesn’t it? "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ" (Ephesians 5:21).

To submit to your spouse is a submission to the Lord. Many want their children to obey them. Managers expect the employees to obey them but when it comes to obeying the spouse better yet obeying the Lord; all brakes are in full force.

I am sure you are obeying your boss at work. I know you are being a great example of obedience to your children. Of course you are displaying submission to your spouse.

Right, Many are willing to follow the Word of God only if it does not upset their comfort level. The word is not based on your condition. How is your level of obeying? Are you getting further from what you are asked to do? Are you coaching yourself to believe that your sacrifice is sufficient rather than your obedience? Don’t allow a short cut to cut you off from the Lord.

Consider pleasing the Father and follow His instructions. Ask the Lord to forgive you from being disobedient. Pray to the Father to give you power to do as you are told. Request to God the wisdom you need to stay on course. For obedience is better than sacrifice.

What Good?

I wrote a devotional one night for the next day; yet, when I woke up to post it, I felt lead to write a different devotional and post the one I was writing that moment. Initially, I thought, “Man I can’t just post the one I am writing another day.”

I was thinking of posting it for the next day because I was considering all the things I had to do and how it would be more convenient for me, if I were to write and post the one that was laid upon my heart that moment, another day.

Yet, I did as I felt lead. I wrote what was on my heart. As a result, several people emailed me stating how what I wrote was so timely. They encouraged me by thanking me for being obedient and to continue with the ministry. I was amazed because it was that moment I realized “my obedience was not just for me but it is obedience for serving the Lord.”

Many have heard the point of Isaiah proclaiming “obedience is better than sacrifice.” He begins by telling of his vision:

""I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows his master, the donkey his owner's manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand." Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with guilt, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the LORD; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him. Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness-- only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil. Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers. The Daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a city under siege. Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah. Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah! "The multitude of your sacrifices-- what are they to me?" says the LORD. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats" (Isaiah 1:1-11).

God chastised the people of Israel. Isaiah was given a vision which revealed the future of what the people would become and how to get there.

How obedient are you today? Are you following the crowd? Have you been stagnate to do as he Lord says based on your conditions or perhaps what is most convenient to you? What good is your sacrifice, if you lack obeying the word of God?

We all have what we need to do, what God has appointed us to do. Yet we see our circumstance and dare to tell the Lord, no, and many of us don’t even ask for forgiveness. God is still saying, what good is your sacrifice; He wants your obedience and faithfulness.

Consider saying yes, when He directs you. Neglect your conditions or following the crowd and follow the one with the true crown. Ask the Lord to help you acknowledge beyond what He is telling you to do but do as He says do. Call upon the Lord to forgive you for being stubborn. Pray to the Lord that in doing what He directs, you gain favor in His sight. For what good is your sacrifice?

Self Controlled

I watched this movie once and the basketball team was watching the opponent they would play against, two weeks in advance. The coach was having each player study the one they would guard. It wasn’t that the coach was attempting to make his players emulate the other players he wanted them to be aware of their tricks so they would be prepared, on game day.

Yesterday, I was reminded of the schemes of the enemy. As I have been moving forward for the Lord many distractions have come about to push me further behind for the game day which I am preparing for. My children have been very testy. My husband has been ill. My computer has even acted as if it has the flu. It would be easy for me to loose control and just stop. However, this is not my battle, but it is a test.

This morning the coach from above is reminding me to be self-controlled. “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1Peter 5:8).

As I am reminded, I calm down, as Jesus calmed the disciples. I turn my focus to praying to the Lord, declaring no weapons formed against me shall prosper.

It dawned on me, many are going about their day pursuing the work of the Lord. Your adversary is prowling at you; he wants to take you out. He sends every tactic that will make you tick. He sends what makes your flesh crawl in attempt to get you off course. He will attempt to make your view of your loved ones seem as if they are getting on your very last nerve but be self-controlled my friend, be cautious.

Those darts he throws at you are only an attempt to get you to call the Lord a lie. You have to be bold and declare "Even though you planned evil against me, God planned good to come out of it” (Genesis 50:20).

I just praised the Father for replenishing my time. I just worshipped the Father, adoring the fact that as I was seeking His kingdom first, He was working things out for me. So how like my challenger to send all that will make me tick. He wants me to loose control and curse my Lord and call Him a lie.

Are arrows shooting it at you? Are you throwing back with the Word of the Lord or are you loosing it all? Consider being self-controlled, tell the Father, thank you Jesus for making away out of no way, so many times. Thank you for increasing my faith. Thank you Lord, for healing me when the doctor said no. Thank you Jesus, glorify His precious name.

Don’t walk around in fear because of the lion’s roar. Call upon the Creator of his roar and allow the Father to roar at your opponent. Ask the Lord to give you strength to control yourself. Pray to the Father for wisdom to discern the attacks of the antagonist. Be self-controlled.

Kingdom First

Lately, I have felt consumed with so many tasks. I help at my church with the children’s ministry, I help at my children’s school by tutoring and I have conferences to attend on their behalf, as well as I am planning a marriage conference, in the midst of being a wife.

Yesterday, I spent most of the time allotted to work helping with my church program. I looked up and realized I did not do anything towards my ministry. I did not become angry I just said “another day.” The next day I noticed I did what I expected myself to do the day prior as well as covering ground for even more.

In the midst of my tasks God is still saying “do what I say.” As I considered the many tasks I have been executing it dawned on me that I was seeking the kingdom first and as a result the other things have been falling in place.

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well" (Matt 6:31-33). We are advised to seek first the kingdom of heaven. Doing the business of the Lord is awesome. When you serve the Father, he is providing and serving you. There is no room with worrying.

Today, some people are trapped with the thought of “how I pay the bills?” How will my marriage be happy? How will I have a successful career? Many are preoccupied with these kinds of concerns, but Jesus wants you to be calm. He comforted his disciples by giving them a higher purpose. He wanted them to understand that your needs, I have taken care of.

Instead of considering, how will I pay the bills or have a terrific a career, He is saying seek the kingdom of heaven. Instead of considering, how can I save my marriage, He is saying, seek the kingdom first.

God has already given you what you need for life. Are you seeking things you need for life and you already have it? Are you being anxious a saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' The corresponding account adds a guarantee: "...seek his kingdom, and all these things shall be yours as well.

Don’t ask for what you already have. Consider actively receiving eternal life that Christ has brought. Pray to the Lord that you manage your time to do as He wills. Pray to the Lord that you have wisdom to continue seeking Him. Call upon the Lord to calm your heart as you seek Him.

Your Limitations

I saw a daughter dancing the other morning. Her father showed her a map and asked her where a certain state was and each time she got it right, she danced. She would point out the state and celebrate by doing what her father called “Smarty Dance.”

I smiled with amazement because I was reminded again how we place limitations on children; we are in fact, placing limitations on the Lord.

A young girl called me yesterday to tell me she won a writing contest for the county and I was elated. I was reminded again, is anything too big for my God.

My mind captured my attention to the story when God came to Balaam and said "Don't go with them. And don't curse the others—they are a blessed people" (Numbers 22 :12).

The people were afraid and felt they needed help but God was trying to get them to see they were blessed. They were so disconnected to their blessing they thought they needed Balaam. God then told Balaam "Since these men have come all this way to see you, go ahead and go with them. But make sure you do absolutely nothing other than what I tell you" (Numbers 22:20).

The next day he left with them and saddled his donkey. God was upset and blocked the road 3 times. The donkey knew it was the Lord and the donkey would veer off the road. Balaam would then beat his donkey each time.

“God's angel blocked the way yet again—a very narrow passage this time; there was no getting through on the right or left. Seeing the angel, Balaam's donkey sat down under him. Balaam lost his temper; he beat the donkey with his stick” (Numbers 22:26-27).

Then God gave speech to the donkey. She said to Balaam: "What have I ever done to you that you have beat me these three times" (Numbers 22:28)?

Balaam thought the donkey was playing games, but in fact Balaam was getting ahead of him self. “The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your trusty donkey on whom you've ridden for years right up until now? Have I ever done anything like this to you before? Have I?"
He said, "No."

Then God helped Balaam see what was going on: He saw God's angel blocking the way, brandishing a sword. Balaam fell to the ground, his face in the dirt” (Numbers 22:30-31).

As children we have divine power by God it is not something we have to wait for, it is there. Many people are walking around in bondage not knowing they are blessed. Since they don’t use their line of blessing you have people fraudulently attempting to use it. They see the potential in you and you keep throwing it up against the wall. God has divine power to do whatever He wants to do. If He can make a donkey talk how much more limitations must you place on Him.

What limitations are you putting on the Lord? Don’t look to other people to bless you, yet seek the blessing in you. Call upon the Lord to give you wisdom. Ask the Father to forgive you for not having faith in the divine power He has for you. Pray that you lean on the Lord for nothing is too big for my God.

Your Credit

I recall when I was about to complete high school. A few months before I graduated a large amount of credit card companies sent me pre-approved lines of credit cards.

At that time, I would never fill them out because I didn’t want to owe any one any money. As a result they would never activate the line of credit.

God has given us a pre-qualified line of credit but until we confess Christ, He won’t activate. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree". So that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:13-14).

We have a line of credit to operate with but we must confess. Each time you doubt the Father it’s like tearing up the pre-approved line of credit card. He keeps sending you letter after letter just so you will know He gave you divine power but you keep saying, “I I‘m not equipped. You keep saying,” I have to wait until the kids get older, wait until the kids get out of school, wait until I go back to school I have to wait and Jesus keeps sending you letters to tell you “You are already Pre-Qualified!” The reality is you are waiting on you.

What is your dilemma? Are you waiting on the kids? Are you waiting until you get the right degree?

When Jesus saw the man at the pool lying there He asked him "Do you want to be healed?" The man gave him excuses of being sick and not having help from others. Jesus did not want to hear all that. He said to him "Get up, take up your bed, and walk." And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. (John 5:6-9).

Are you going to decide today to pick up your of mat? People fill out a form for a line of credit but confess Jesus, that is too much. I dare you to confess the Lord as your line of credit. How much longer will you let your approval notice pass you by?

Consider to waitn no more and move. Don’t hinder your self, yet seek knowledge of the Father so you may shine in His glory. Ask the Father to activate His line of credit in you. Pray that your doubt is removed. Call upon the Lord for faith in His divine power.

Business

A lady was speaking to her husband about upcoming expenses that needed to be paid. The husband heard her; yet, there was no plan of action after the conversation was concluded.

As her day progressed she left to tend to family errands and remembered it was their child’s turn to supply snacks for the class and she had an empty tank. Immediately, she called her husband and he decisively says, “Get the snack for the day and some gas, we are going to have to talk about all these expenses, when I get home.”

The wife does as he advises but ponders, “Didn’t we just attempt to talk about this.” After completing her errands she decided she would create invoices so her husband would be able to not only hear but see her financial concerns. She created a template of invoices entitled projected invoices, unpaid invoices & invoices.

Her husband came home and as usual, there schedules were not matching. The next day came and as he prepared to go to work, she briefly spoke to him this time including the invoices and a plan of action was executed immediately. They both concluded knowing what was needed, when it was needed and the day it would be taken care of.

I am reminded that in marriage there is a partnership. "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together let no man separate" (Matthew 19:6).

It is easy for us to get busy yet challenging for us to make time to conclude the business side of our marriage. A marriage is a business with remarkable benefits. Today many households are being challenged about income. There are present expenses, coming up expenses and outstanding expenses that need to be paid. The concern is people neglect to take time to write out a plan to deal with the financial matters because of lack of the income or lack of the desire to handle such matter.

The lady had a concern with her husband about money. She noticed that her first approach did not go through and continued on. However, when she got in her car she needed even more money and it was decided that very moment that the couple had to make time to manage their money. She then approached her marriage as a business and her husband was understanding towards what he could visibly see.

Marriage is a partnership that both are to be concerned with as a team. If the man is providing, perhaps you can create some invoices so the money can be managed wisely. If both are providing financially, then there is a systematic strategy that can help you as a team, supervise your money. However you both must desire such strategy. What financial matters do you have in your house today? Are you saying man, he is head I don’t have to bother with the finances? Are you spending foolishly allowing your money to manage you?

Don’t allow money to separate your marriage. Seek God for wisdom for a plan to get your finances to flow as He would see fit. Pray to God to control your spending habits. Ask the Lord to openly treat your spouse as a partner with all matters. For it is, “by wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures” (Proverbs 24:3-4).

Live By Faith

I woke up this morning trying to just spend time with the Lord but I had an urgency to get up and work. I did not understand nor question the Lord but I start cleaning. As time continued I discovered we were having guest. It dawned on me, “why the urgency to clean the house came over me.”

The day continued to progress and I phoned my husband to tell him, “I would not have certain tasks completed because I can not do it alone.” I recognized that I was falling short in the midst of all the tasks that had to be done and needed help to get things done.

I was reminded of those with faith are blessed. I over heard the scripture, “For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them," (Galatians 3:10).

When you rely on what you do or do not do, you are cursed, for you are putting your faith in the work you do. It is through the faith of the Lord that He is able to activate, what you are falling short of.

How do you make investments? You are not investing your time in working and ignoring what the Lord says to do, are you? You are not donating money to this organization and that organization but not giving where the Lord requires you to give, are you?

If I spend my day working 9 to5, but do not abide in what the Lord tells me, what good are my works from 9 to5. I can’t push myself to work so I can complete a certain task or earn a certain amount of money and I am not being the mother, I was designed to be. I can not focus my attention on my list of things to do and neglect the list of my husbands’ needs, for I would not be the wife I was created to be. I must call on the Lord where I fall short and allow Him to take over. Not doing what I was designed to do is disobedience to the Lord.

If you depend on the law you are cursed. The law is to reveal, how you are so much not like God. It is not designed to show you, how to repair your self; yet, reveal what is wrong in hopes that you may call on the creator to restore you.

Further in the book of Galatians (3:11-13) it reveals that no one is justified before God by the law for "The righteous shall live by faith."

As I looked at all the things I had to do I realized, I could not meet the standards. I can not meet the standards of a perfect God, for I am not perfect. The law has cursed us all. That is why we strive for perfection but can not get close because we are not perfect. The just shall live by faith.

What are you striving to do today? Are you giving your all, only to find you are still short? It does not matter if I did 10 percent more than you or you did 50 percent more than me, we still fall. 99 and a half won’t due because our Father has a standard of excellence.

It is through Christ that we are justified. We are able to do the impossible because our Lord has given us credit, when we don’t deserve it.

Stop beating your self. Stop getting frustrated at what you wish you had, could have had or want to have done, for you were designed to depend and rely on the Lord. Instead of making a new plan to do things your way, submit to His way. Pray to God to forgive you for trying to do it your way and not include Him. Call upon the Lord to unleash angels to keep the enemy from blocking you to allow the Father to do as He wills. Ask the Lord to direct your path to follow only His directions. Pray to God that you have faith in Him and not the performance. “He has given His divine power for everything we need in life and godliness through knowledge of Him, who called us, for His very own glory and goodness” (2 Peter1:3).

I Need

A young child is going on and on, about what they need for a party, to their parent. The parent says “I want you to seriously consider, what it is you need for this party. Then we can talk.” The child goes away and returns with a list it reads:

Things I need for the sukcess of my party:
Jesus, Brothers’, house,
food, mom, dad, clothing, and love.

“Wow, this is all you need for the party,” amazingly says the parent. Yes, can I have it, can I have it, persistently says the child? “You already have it,” says the parent. The child runs around the house with joy chanting, “We are having a party!”

This setting captures my attention to me being a child of God asking for control over my temper or love, for one that hurt me. God replies “you have it, my child.”

I believe each time I feel, I am having a hard time defeating a temptation or controlling my emotions; God is speaking saying “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is” (John 3:2). The part that sticks out is “be like Him.” Because you are made in His image you have His character yet because you dwell in this world you also adopt ways of the world.

As Christians we have been given “his precious and wonderful promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, seeing that you have escaped the corruption that is in the world caused by evil desires” (2 Peter1:4).

Have you considered your needs? What does your list look like? Perhaps you have postponed your list because of what you don’t have. Maybe you have sought something yet lack writing your list because it seems impossible.

God wants to talk with you but asks of you to seriously consider, what is needed. Pray to God to narrow your thoughts to only think of what is needed. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom to be content. Call upon the Father with a heart of thankfulness knowing you are blessed. For “the Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance”( 2 Peter 3:9).

Your Worth

A woman approaching over 40 years of age is without a husband. She desires a child yet can’t stand the thought of a husband. What is a husband, which you would desire the resources of the husband to have your desire met yet disregard the source to provide the resource.

A woman that has been married pleas to the Lord “if you would just give me one child Father, I will dedicate him back to you, Oh Lord. I am tired of being the laughing stock among all these people. My Lord, please open my womb so I may bear a child.” Her husband says to her, "am I not enough for you, my love." This woman continues in prayer for it is not her husband she is seeking but the Lord.

A woman well over her 50 talks with her husband because she can’t take it any more. They have all the wealth they could imagine but no child. She advises her husband to take another woman and lay with her so she may give him a child, “for I can not.”

All 3 of these women have something in common yet one stands out among them all. They are questioning their worth, as a woman. Eve was the first that questioned her worth and identity. Eve was made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) yet lack seeing the power of His image in her.

Today, many people struggle with the concept of their true worth. Two of these women have not grasped that “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3).

The question is what do you need for life? To function daily, what do you need? It’s not the luxury dinner every night, is it? It’s not the position as a CEO of the company, is it? It’s not three houses with one in France, is it? It’s not all the name brand clothes and not one of them even having a symbol to represent me, to tell of me, is it? What do you need for survival?

Do you understand, what being godliness is? Eve struggled with her worth because of her lack of knowing the divine power of God. She focused more on the glory side of being as God that she failed to recognize, “if I spent more time seeking the Father I will know, I am more like Him than this serpent is saying.”

The serpent is still lurking among us today. In some form, the serpent visits us all. He visited the woman over 40 when she said “I don’t have a baby, I am no good. I am not much of a woman since I can't have what only women can deliver.” He attacked the woman over 50, deceiving her to believe, she needed to bring someone from the outside to make her a happy home. Yet when the enemy showed up at the woman’s house that cried, “I want a child.” She did not hold a conversation with the serpent. This woman went directly to the Father. She knew no one; not even her husband, could fulfill her worth but the Lord, so she pleaded, to the Father.

This trick has been going on far too long. It is happening to not only women yet men as well. People are neglecting seeking the Father they don’t know that Jesus abides in them.

This is a personal attack. I pray that you seek Him today. Say out loud, “Since I am like Him, my very character is like Him. I can pray my way out of temptation because Jesus showed me that. I can be grateful for what I have because with feeding the 5000 Jesus showed me that. I can be kind when I am being dragged through dirt by another because when Jesus hung high He showed me that. I can be gentle when others make false accusations about me because when Jesus picked up the cross He showed me that. I can forgive those that hurt me because the Lord, He showed me that.”

Perhaps you stare upon these words dismayed. Maybe you are saying I can’t do all that. However, I would like you to consider spending more time seeking the Father.

Not knowing who you are can cause a sane person to become insane. Not knowing your purpose can make a person anticipate the day they just leave this earth. Not knowing you have divine power can make you feel so little, so tiny that the very thing you were called to do diminishes because you lack being you.

Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, consider what you do have that you need for everyday life. Pray to the Father to help you be content in all He has provided you. Thank God for proving your needs. Ask the Lord to forgive you for being greedy, selfish wanting more and not being content. Call upon the Lord to help you personally know you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. After all, when we find our self grateful of the little then the many shall follow.

Marvel With Him

I was drawing a pattern of hearts and my daughter came to me saying, “Mom will you show me how to draw hearts like that?" She collected her utensils and before she knew it, she was making her pattern of hearts. She amazes me for her willingness to do what she sees me do and also inspires me to do even more.

Thinking of her jogs my memory to Jesus explaining how "the Father loves the son and shows Him all the things that He does; and He will show Him a greater works than these, that you may marvel" (John15:20).

I think back to my daughter relating in her mind she asks me to demonstrate how to draw the hearts because she had already made up in her mind, "if my mom can do it so can I." She knew if I just showed her how it was done she would do a work which as a result, I would be amazed, as I am today.

Considering my child's relationship and the relationship of God's children I know it is the same. I believe we are to see Jesus and all the miraculous things He did and strive to do as He did. What I like about the scripture is it is saying to us, you can do what I do, for if I am in you and you in me, you can.

How do you respond when a child asks you to show them how to do something? Are you willing to be as the Father and show the child all the things ? Our Father loves you. He has greater works to show you. The Lord desires for you to teach the children, for they have greater works as well.

Make time to help another, especially the little ones. Is your child gathering utensils positioning them self to learn? Are you being the teacher you were called to be to your child? Perhaps you feel bombarded with life. Maybe you think it is not enough of you to share your self with your child or any other child.

Stop contemplating on you and narrow your thoughts to be consumed with the Spirit. Pray to God to fill you with the Spirit so you may look more as He. Ask God to forgive you for considering you first. Call upon the Lord to change your heart so you may dwell in peace with Him. For what you teach the little ones will cause you to marvel.

Without Him

For the past few days, I have been trying to wake up and work but my baby keeps waking up. The weather has been flip flopping, one day it is cool and windy, the next day it’s warm. It is affecting him causing him to be congested. So when he awakes he wants to be held to be close to feel peace, to feel protected. I hold him in my arms and rock him. I sing “Falling in love with Jesus, falling in love with Jesus, falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I ever done…” I place him close to my heart and peace falls over him, as he quietly falls asleep.

As I hold him, I think of Jesus wanting to be close to us. As a wife longs for her husband that works 9 to 5, Christ longs for us. As a husband desires to hear his wife’s voice, the father longs to hear from you.

I consider when I initially fell in love with Christ and needing Him was all I could think of. In the midst, of all my priorities, at times I forget and get congested with life and have a hard time functioning, as my child was having difficulty breathing. I stumble all because I forget to spend time with the Father.

My mind jogs its memory to Jesus explaining, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself” (John 5:19). “For without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

When I fell in love with Jesus I wanted to be close to Him at all times. In His arms there is no doubt. In His arms He keeps me from insecurities. In His arms I am away from negativity. In His arms I am protected. In His arms is peace. In His arms I can breathe and be free, for there is no place I’d rather be.

Is your sensor of communication signaling; however, you move on. You slow down when there is a communication problem in your relationship with your spouse, perhaps you even pray about it. If your child is not listening, you can discern the communication problem, and call upon the Lord. You are aware when you speak to someone and they ignore you yet when Christ is speaking to you, you care not. You go on with your to do list and wonder why the day is so congested, pondering more time in the day and not time with the Father.

How do you start your day, is it with plans of work, plans of completing a task? The Father desires to spend time with you. You are asking more from Him and He is standing waiting for more of you. He knows your priorities asking “why isn’t He a priority”.

Consider changing your priorities to start your day off with Him. Allow time to thank Him. Allow time to praise Him. Allow you lifestyle to change with worship being a part of your day, throughout your day. Ask the Father to order your steps so you may follow. Pray to the Father to forgive you for neglecting to spend time with Him. Call upon the Lord to keep you in His arms, for with out Him you can do nothing.
